How to Build the “Life Size” Paper Bag Tree!

Remember the Christmas Tree we made from a giant 15ft paper bag?

I’m shocked how many people have been messaging me lately asking specific details on how we did this. Unfortunately at the time I didn’t have a blog and didn’t take as many progress pictures/notes as I should have… lesson learned! So instead of repeating myself I’ve created a video tutorial anyone who is curious:

To build this you will need:

  • Brown Kraft Paper
  • Clear Packing Tape
  • 2″ PVC Pipe
  • 8-10 Gauge metal wire
  • 2×4 Wood for base
  • Rope or twine

I used 75 square ft rolls that were 2 ft wide. I think it took about 4 rolls! Building the bag takes a lot of room so make sure you lay it out in an area with plenty of floor space, or even outside. Also, to save your fingers, wear gloves. I remember having so many paper cuts that week it hurt to type!

It’s best to watch the video for the visual demonstration, but if I missed anything or you still have questions let me know in the comments/ send a message and I’ll try to answer the best I can!

Good luck and happy creating 🙂
